Quality of the College of Education in Ptuj

Quality standards

Quality standards are defined in the Nakvis Criteria. They relate to six areas, namely:
  • integration into the environment,
  • the operation of a higher education institution,
  • personnel,
  • students,
  • material conditions,
  • ensuring quality, innovation and development orientation. Study programs are assessed after the organization and implementation of education.

The Quality Regulations define the quality system, define procedures and instruments for quality assurance at the University of Ptuj. They have been prepared in accordance with Slovenian and European standards, namely:
  • The Higher Education Act,
  • Criteria for accreditation and external evaluation of higher education institutions and study programmes,
  • We also take into account the following standards, criteria and acts published by Nakvis on its website:
  • Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education),
  • Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area,
  • Resolution on the National Higher Education Programme 2011-2020 (ReNPVS11),
  • Act on Professional and Scientific Titles and
  • General Administrative Procedure Act.

Quality assurance

The Quality and Evaluation Committee consists of:

  • the vice-dean responsible for quality, who is the chairman of the committee,
  • two representatives of higher education teachers,
  • a representative of other employees, proposed by the dean of the VŠP and
  • a student representative, proposed by the VŠP Student Council.


The tasks and responsibilities of the Quality and Evaluation Commission are:

  • discusses the VŠP reports on monitoring, assessing and ensuring quality in the field of VŠP as a whole, education and research,
  • discusses the proposal for indicators and standards and procedures for monitoring efficiency in the major areas of VŠP activities,
  • performs other tasks in accordance with the VŠP Statute, the general acts of the VŠP and the resolutions of the VŠP Senate.


The implementation of the quality policy at VŠP is reflected primarily in:

  • continuous monitoring of the quality, competitiveness and efficiency of its activities, which include educational, scientific research and professional work; planning of periodic self-evaluation; planning of periodic self-evaluation;
  • collecting and analyzing data on student learning outcomes and overall education and other related activities;
  • identifying shortcomings in the implementation of its activities and deviations from planned activities and achievements;
  • involving all employees, students and others in assessing the quality of their operations;
  • introducing and improving general and specific quality assurance mechanisms as a way of constantly ensuring quality.


We implement a quality assurance process supported by continuous and systematic self-evaluation:

  • Evaluation interviews are conducted after the completion of the course with each lecturer or higher education employee; professional and administrative employees at the VŠP are surveyed;
  • a survey of students is conducted after each academic year;
  • Reports on the implementation of the course are prepared by the course leaders and providers;
  • Surveys are conducted among students after the course and among lecturers after the course is completed;
  • The efficiency and effectiveness of the educational process is analyzed by providers and subjects.

Self-evaluation reports and quality assurance rules and work program

The self-evaluation report is one of the mechanisms for monitoring and ensuring quality. The self-evaluation documents and analyzes findings on achievements and shortcomings in the implementation of VŠP activities, as well as proposals for eliminating errors and improvements. The report is adopted for each academic year and is based on the evaluation of selected quantitative indicators by area with elements of qualitative evaluation.
