The main goal of the University of Ptuj is quality and excellence, diversity and accessibility. In its activities, it cooperates with research institutes and the economy and non-economy, paying special attention to better human resources cooperation between individual knowledge institutions. Among other things, an important goal is to identify the necessary requirements and needs of employers for the knowledge and skills of employees and future employees, and to strengthen the awareness that individuals increase their self-confidence through learning, develop creativity, entrepreneurship, skills and qualifications that they need for active participation in economic and social life.
The University College in Ptuj fills numerous untapped opportunities in the development of interdisciplinary sciences at the national level and forms a scientific educational institution that successfully integrates into the international environment and modern trends. Our goals are focused on the development and integration of all areas of educational and scientific research work at various levels: at the local and regional levels, at the national level in terms of the importance of the development of modern interdisciplinary sciences in Slovenia and by contributing to increasing the development capabilities of our country and thus the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy, especially in the development of an advanced technological society. At the international level, our goals are focused on connecting with foreign institutions (research, economic and others) in the wider European and global space, thereby expanding the network of knowledge and accessibility to new achievements in the field of interdisciplinary sciences.
The concept of the University of Ptuj is designed so that it can contribute to increasing the development capacities in its region and at the national level of the entire Slovenia through research and pedagogical work. In the area of Spodnje Podravje, there are no higher education programs for which there is interest and need in the economy. Based on the analysis of the needs of companies, it is necessary to organize new areas of education, while at the same time encouraging young people, the unemployed and those already employed to join these programs.
Students gain cutting-edge theoretical knowledge, while also being trained to solve real-world technological problems. They hone their skills on robots, controllers, and the latest software. During their studies, they test their creativity on projects designed to closely resemble the challenges they will face after graduation.
The University of Ptuj strives for excellence in knowledge and maximum focus on the student. Excellence in academic and applied knowledge is ensured by our academic staff. The professors are exceptionally educated, and all of them also have experience in the economy. They pass on their knowledge and experience in accordance with the student-adapted concept of "on-line" study.
