Goba\u00a0Euplectella aspergillum, znana tudi kot Venera cvetli\u010dna ko\u0161ara, slovi po svojem zapletenem steklenem ogrodju.\u00a0Ta struktura zagotavlja izjemno mehansko podporo in je navdihnila izgradnjo lahkih mostov in neboti\u010dnikov.\u00a0Voda se skozi pore neprestano vle\u010de v in iz centralne telesne votline gobe, da filtrira delce hrane in izmenjuje pline.\u00a0\u010ceprav so mehanske lastnosti okostja gob dobro dokumentirane, je o podrobnih  pretokih teko\u010dine okoli in skozi telo malo znanega.
