The Ptuj College of Professional Studies received a donation this month from Janez \u0160krlec, who has been<\/p>

intensively supports the development of bionics in our country. The donation covers 7 technological units and they represent<\/p>

integration of various systems such as: electronic, optical, photonic, fluidic and microfluidic and others<\/p>

systems. Various hybrid drives and sensor systems are also integrated into this. The technological units are<\/p>

relate to the development of support systems for modern medicine and healthcare, and encompass various<\/p>

implantable neurostimulators, micropumps, control and regulation systems, sensory systems,<\/p>

building blocks of bionic prosthetics, exoskeletons, humanoid robots and other devices. The development is focused<\/p>

also in the field of brain interfaces BCI, also in the field of the use of memristors, the development<\/p>

assistive technologies of bionic vision and hearing and other devices. The technological units include<\/p>

practical examples of how the systems work, and in the case of neurostimulators, it is a demonstration of their development in the direction of<\/p>

miniaturization, multifunctionality of devices and battery-free operation. Certain systems are<\/p>

intended for communication between the systems themselves and with the environment. The donation supports the development of bionics in our country and<\/p>

brings technological solutions closer to the educational programs of bionic engineers. \u0160krlec's contribution is also in<\/p>

in the form of technical equipment and promotional video materials. With donations, it will be possible in Ptuj in the future<\/p>

to build a complex educational system of bionics and related sciences.<\/p>

\u0160krlec has also been leading a project for the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MVZI) for 10 years,<\/p>

\u00bb"the intersection of science and business" in which bionics has also found a prominent place. Bionic innovations, however,<\/p>

have also received special fair awards in recent years. \u0160krlec also published his own in 2022<\/p>

a book on bionics, and he also developed his own innovations such as the bionic head, BHMTP \u2013 bionic hybrid,<\/p>
