His career began in 1986 in the economic sphere. His duties included new product development and sales.
He studied at the Technical Faculty in Maribor, majoring in production engineering, and graduated in 1993.
He has been employed at the Ptuj School Center since 1992, and in 2006 he took over the management of the Ptuj College of Professional Studies.
In 2001, he wrote a manual for working with the Automation Studio program for the field of control technology. He participated in the preparation of the professional standard, the general part of the educational part of the program, and the preparation of knowledge catalogs for the mechatronics program for a higher vocational school in the Phare program. He obtained a license from the National Examination Center for the verification and certification of the national professional qualification of process equipment administrator/caretaker - mechatronics/mechatronics technician. He participated in numerous national and international projects.

Mr. Robert Harb was one of the leaders in the development and establishment of four study programs at the higher education level, which were developed in Ptuj.
In 2005, he wrote materials for the subject area of mechatronics 1, which is intended for students of the Higher Vocational School, as well as for everyone else involved in this branch of technology.

Because he wanted to offer added value to young people and others in the field of education, he co-created and actively participated in the development of higher and higher education. The idea of developing the Bionike program had been simmering for some time, and in 2012, together with his team, he developed the higher education professional program Bionike in Technology.
Mr. Robert Harb is the lecturer of two courses: Bionic Systems and Bionic Micro and Nano Technologies.
He is actively involved in the field of connecting education and the economy and believes that bionics is the future, he believes that this is the profession of the future!

Man has been inspired by nature and natural solutions, and technological progress has often led to solutions that are similar to those found in nature. Modern technology must ensure minimal material consumption to achieve maximum effects, while also taking into account increasingly stringent requirements regarding sustainability and the possibility of upgrading materials and their harmlessness to the environment and humans. We must be inspired by the solutions that nature has achieved in the almost four billion years since life appeared on Earth. In short, we are engaged in the transfer and use of solutions that have developed and improved in nature over millions of years in the field of technology. Inspiration is everywhere in nature – we just have to look.
